Noodle Journey Episode 92: Samyang Buldak Stew Ramen

This review looks at Samyang Buldak Stew Type, one of the few variations designed to deliver the brand’s signature flavor in soup form. I’ve seen people dilute regular Buldak sauces with water to create soup, which isn’t a great idea – just spreads the spice around and weakens the flavor. Be warned that the packaging is kinda similar to the standard original Hot Chicken pack but has a “Stew Type” logo, so be sure you’re buying the right one.

Noodle Journey Episode 91: Samyang Buldak Habanero Lime Ramen

In this spicy review I’m covering Samyang Buldak Habanero Lime, one of three new Buldak flavors introduced in 2022. The sombrero on the packaging hints at a Mexican‑inspired profile. I had tried this a couple of months earlier because I wanted to see how relentless the cilantro flavor was, and after it passed the cilantro-tolerance test, I wanted to revisit it here.

Noodle Journey Episode 90: Samyang Buldak Rosé Ramen

Today I’m reviewing Samyang Buldak Rosé, which at the time of this review was one of the more elusive flavors in the Buldak lineup. I ordered it from stylekorean.com for about two dollars a pack, though I hope Samyang eventually releases an English‑export version (update: they did!). Some viewers have mispronounced it as “rose” like the flower; the packaging clearly uses the accent mark over the e, so it’s pronounced ro‑zé. This ramen aims to blend Samyang’s signature heat with a creamy, Western‑inspired sauce.

Noodle Journey Unboxing: StyleKorean.com

Notes since filming:

Shortly after I released this video, StyleKorean slowly began removing all of their noodles and tteokbokki products from their site. They unfortunately don’t sell any food anymore, which is a shame because they had a decent selection.

What doubly hurts is that I had an issue in my house that destroyed some of the stuff from this order that I didn’t get to review right away. 🙁

This unboxing video will remain up for posterity and because I referenced it in other videos.

Original video description:

Noodle Journey’s first unboxing video! While hunting for some new noodles, I came across StyleKorean.com, a South Korean website selling some interesting noodle products (and cosmetics, if you’re into that sort of thing), some of which I can’t find in the USA. There’s some really cool stuff in here, so check it out if you’re interested in ordering from them.

(This video is not sponsored in any way. I’m just a fan of their service and selection.)

Noodle Journey Episode 62: Samyang Buldak Quattro Cheese Ramen

I’m following up my review of the regular Buldak Cheese with this one, Buldak Quattro Cheese. After getting radio silence online when I asked others what the difference was between the two, I’m taking it upon myself to compare them directly. My hope is that this one turns up the cheese in both flavor and texture.

Noodle Journey Episode 61: Samyang Buldak Cheese Ramen

I’m diving back into Samyang’s Buldak product line to try their Cheese variety, one of the more popular Korean instant noodle flavors around. This sets the stage for my next review of the newer Quattro Cheese version in the next review, so I can directly compare the two. Cheese in Korean noodles remains a polarizing topic, but I’m firmly on the pro-cheese side.

Noodle Journey Episode 40: Samyang Buldak Corn Ramen

I’m diving into what might be the most polarizing Buldak variety: Corn. It’s drawn some harsh reactions online, which bumped it to the top of my curiosity list. I usually enjoy the Buldak product line for its spicy, flavorful reliability, but corn in Korean ramen? That’s new to me.

Noodle Journey Episode 30: Samyang Buldak Jjajang Ramen

Samyang returns to the spotlight in this review with their spicy twist on a Korean favorite: Buldak Jjajang. For those unfamiliar, jjajang is a Korean adaptation of Chinese black bean sauce, which is a thick, earthy, and slightly sweet sauce that I’ve only recently started exploring. My first exposure was through Nongshim’s Chapagetti, but this version promises a much more intense experience thanks to Samyang’s trademark Buldak heat.

Noodle Journey Episode 17: Samyang Buldak 2x Spicy Hot Chicken Ramen

Time to up my spicy street cred. This episode covers Samyang’s 2x Spicy Buldak Hot Chicken, the viral challenge noodle that gained a reputation for destroying people at double the intensity of the original Hot Chicken flavor. I’m not eating this to prove anything, I just want to see whether the hype is deserved, and more importantly, whether it’s still actually edible. I’ve already covered the original Buldak and the Carbonara, both of which I enjoyed, so I’m going into this one with a decent idea of what to expect from a flavor perspective, but not from a spice perspective.

Noodle Journey Episode 16: Samyang Buldak Hot Chicken Ramen

Time to dive into the one that started it all: Samyang’s original Buldak Hot Chicken Ramen, the pack that kicked off a thousand spicy noodle challenges and an entire subculture of people shoving noodles into their tear-stained faces for the enjoyment of others. I’m not here for the Internet clout, just a proper review of a famously spicy stir-fried noodle. I’ve already tried the Carbonara version and loved it, so it was time to see how the base flavor holds up without the creamy powdered cheese to tone it down.
