Noodle Journey Supplemental Review: Ramen Toppers Vegetable Mix for Noodles

After re-reviewing Ramen Toppers’ Chashu Pork, Fish Cake, and Vegetable Mix and awarding it a perfect score, I was excited to try their other major product: the Ramen Toppers Vegetable Mix for Noodles. This mix contains the same vegetables found in the Chashu blend – peas, corn, cabbage, carrots, and green onion – but without the meat or fish elements, making it completely vegan. Ramen Toppers sent me this canister at the same time as the Chashu sample so I could evaluate both.

At $19.99 for a 14.5-ounce canister, it’s a solid value compared to similar options like Ramen Bae’s $24.99 Veggie Mix or the more expensive long-rehydrating mixes found on Amazon. Each canister originally contained 32 ounces of vegetables before dehydration, giving you a large yield of vegetables per container. The mix is made in the US, and you only need about two to three tablespoons per serving depending on how veggie-heavy you like your bowl. For this review, I used one of my favorite vegan noodle optons, Samyang’s Vegetasty Noodle Soup, as a base and left out its included vegetable packet so the evaluation would be fair to Ramen Toppers. The aroma while cooking is simple and pleasant, consisting of corn and cabbage with light onion notes.

Spiciness:
None. This is a dried topping mix with no chili content.

Overall:
As expected, the vegetables here match the quality of those in the Chashu mix. They rehydrate perfectly tender, flavorful, and brightly colored. The corn and cabbage are naturally sweet, the carrots are sweet and earthy, and the green onions retain a surprising amount of sharpness. The peas are well-preserved and not mealy, which I find to be rare for a freeze-dried mix. While this particular vegetable blend isn’t my personal favorite (peas and corn aren’t ingredients I usually like in ramen in general) the overall execution is excellent. The rehydration quality is flawless, and the price-to-volume ratio is among the better values out there. For those who want an easy vegetable topping option that adds real texture and flavor to their noodles, this product is an easy recommendation.
