Samyang Tangle Kimchi Rosé Tangluccine is the second entry in Samyang’s “Tangle” fusion line, following the excellent Bulgogi Alfredo from Episode 122. I’ve been looking for this one for months, and it’s been a hot item since release, so I was excited to finally track it down. This series reimagines Korean flavors through Italian-style pasta using wide, air-dried noodles that resemble fettuccine.

The sodium is 1,270 mg (about 55% of your daily intake), which is impressively low for a Korean instant product. Inside the pack are the signature flat air-dried noodles, a flake packet, a sauce packet, and a powder packet, each labeled step-by-step to assist in the cooking/assembly process. The vegan flake mix contains kimchi cabbage, onion, bok choy, and tomato, while the combined sauce and powder provide additional kimchi seasoning, tomato, sugar, MSG, soy sauce, garlic, sesame, milk, and mozzarella cheese. That makes the flakes vegan but the overall product vegetarian due to dairy content.
When prepared, the noodles looked glossy and well-coated, though the sauce stayed thinner than expected. The aroma leaned more toward smoky ketchup than kimchi, but it was pleasant and unique.
Noodles:
These are the best noodles Samyang has ever produced. Air-dried instead of fried, they have a firm, silky texture closer to Taiwanese wheat noodles or Italian pasta than typical Korean ramen. They’re flat, springy, and a joy to eat.

Spiciness:
Very mild. Even the most spice-sensitive people should have no problem with this. The dairy softens what little heat the kimchi seasoning brings.

Overall:
I think this is a triumph of fusion. The flavor balance is complex – sweet tomato, mild cream, gentle tang from the kimchi flakes, and plenty of garlic. The fermented flavor of kimchi comes through softly in the flakes but doesn’t dominate, making it approachable even for people who normally avoid kimchi. The mozzarella adds body more than flavor, giving the sauce a smooth texture without a funky cheesy aftertaste. The tomato and dairy combine very nicely, producing a tangy, savory sauce with depth and warmth. The flake packet is generous and high-quality, packed with real vegetables that rehydrate well. The only shortcoming is the sauce consistency: following the cooking directions exactly leaves it a bit watery. Draining some excess water before mixing would bring it to perfection. As it stands, the flavor and noodles are outstanding, but the preparation design keeps it just shy of a perfect score.

Notes since filming:
Having made this a few times since filming, I think it’s worth mentioning that this smells a bit funkier while it’s cooking than it tastes when it’s all done. The kimchi mellows out surprisingly well, and I maintain that even people who hate kimchi might actually like this one.
Samyang unveiled some new additions and changes to the Tangle product line in April of 2025, and unfortunately this flavor is no longer in the lineup. What a shame.
