This Nissin Cup Noodles Protein Rich & Savory Beef Flavor is the final one of Nissin’s currently-available Cup Noodles Protein products, and I haven’t been overly impressed with the line thus far. Although the added bone broth protein does its job in making you feel fuller, the flavor has been a little lacking all-told. Maybe this beef cup will end on a higher note? Let’s find out.

For that one aspect, I give this product line kudos. This is one of those situations where the trade-off in mediocre flavor might be worth it to you or the sake of getting a good amount of protein in a cup noodle form that’s not from immi or Chef Woo.
As with the other two flavors, these started showing up in supermarket chains around July of 2025, so check your local stores. Pricing appears to be a bit more premium over regular Cup Noodles, with a regular price of $1.69 at my local stores, but frequently on sale for $1.00. If you want these but can’t find them in-store, check out Amazon if to order these in bulk.

There is a fairly medium amount of sodium in this, 1390mg, and like its brethren there is no MSG in this one either, which is ridiculous to say in 2025. MSG makes beef broth shine, so its exclusion here is likely going to be a mistake. There’s also 16g of protein in this one like the others.

Inside the cup, there’s your standard noodles, broth powder, and dried flakes. The broth is real beef stock with some powdered chicken (I’m guessing that’s the bone broth), plus onion powder, egg whites, and other additives. The flakes are carrots, corn, peas, green onions, and soy protein imitation beef.

Overall:
If you’ve kept up with my reviews up to now, you won’t be surprised to know that I generally prefer the flavor of beef broth to chicken broth. And such is the case here, where I’m finding the beef flavor to be more agreeable to my tastebuds than either of the chicken varieties were. The broth base is a pretty standard savory beef flavor, with what I think might be a slight tinge of ginger in the background. I could stand to have it a bit saltier, and I am of course missing the forbidden umami deliciousness that is MSG, but it’s not quite as bland as the prior two flavors came across to me. Once again, I think the addition of bone broth results in an ever-so-slightly fuller body than you would get with the plain beef version of this cup, but maybe less noticeable here than the Rich & Savory Chicken cup. Peas, corn, and carrots were pretty unremarkable as always, but the green onions added some nice flavor and texture and the soy protein “beef” bits here were much better than the “chicken” bits in the other cups, with a texture much closer to real beef than I was expecting – kind of dense and fibrous but still tender after rehydrating. Overall, it might be faint praise but this is my favorite of the three cups due to those flakes and my preference for beef broth over chicken. And as before, one of these was enough to keep me feeling full until dinnertime, so it did nicely serve that specific purpose.
