I recently hit the milestone of 1,000 subscribers, and to celebrate, I’m finally compiling the first-ever Noodle Journey Top 10 Instant Noodles list. Over the course of this channel, I’ve reviewed a massive variety of noodles, but these ten are the absolute best-in-class for their categories, in my humble opinion. These are the varieties that blew me away when I tried them and that I keep stocked regularly in my pantry for when I’m not filming reviews. This list is in no particular order. These are simply the major varieties that are easily obtainable and represent the pinnacle of my own instant noodle universe in 2024.

I’m wrapping up my reviews of Prima Taste’s lineup for now, or at least the ones currently available in my area. This time, I’m diving into Prima Taste Chili Crab LaMian, which along with the Singapore Curry and Laksa flavors I’ve previously scored at a perfect 10, seems to be the only other flavor that gets exported to the USA. But unlike those soup-based varieties, this one is a dry noodle, served with a sauce and oil packet instead of broth. It's a different style altogether.

After giving Prima Taste’s Singapore Curry LaMian a perfect 10, I’m finally trying their Prima Taste Laksa LaMian variety. Laksa is a Southeast Asian curry noodle soup that typically includes coconut milk, shrimp paste, and milder chili pepper, with a rich flavor profile that leans slightly sweet and seafood-heavy. This version includes a few additional ingredients that distinguish it from the Singapore Curry, and I’m excited to see how it compares.

This was a big one for me. Prima Taste Singapore Curry LaMian comes highly recommended across the internet, especially by Hans The Ramen Rater, and I’ve been looking forward to trying it ever since I started this channel. This is also my first time reviewing a lamian-style noodle, which is traditionally a hand-stretched Chinese wheat noodle known for its thickness and chew. Between the packaging, reputation, and size of the noodle block, expectations were pretty high going in.
