Noodle News Roundup: November 2025

Here’s all the noteworthy noodle news you may have missed in November 2025! Like last month, this was a super light month for noodle news, but there’s some new product announcements from a couple of my favorites, Myojo USA and Nongshim USA, as well as a name change of a very recent Samyang product. Read on for more!

Samyang Changes Buldak “Sweet” to “Swicy”

It only debuted a couple of months ago in bowl form, but it appears that Buldak Sweet has already been rebranded… sort of. While the bowl versions of Sweet still exist with the Sweet branding, there is now a new pack version called Buldak Swicy, which is a portmanteau of “Sweet” and “Spicy.” The packaging aesthetic is practically identical, but as yet I’ve been unable to find an ingredient list for Swicy to verify that it’s the same recipe. To me, this looks like a change in name only, but I’ll try to hunt down a physical pack of Swicy to make sure. Don’t worry, I have a bowl of Sweet queued up for review on the YouTube channel in the New Year, and hopefully Swicy will follow. Can I just end this part of the post by saying how much I hate the word Swicy?

Myojo USA Debuts Plant-Based Frozen Ramen Kits

I don’t review nearly as many Myojo products as I’d like, but they’ve always been a solid brand with maybe one or two minor exceptions. Their frozen ramen is especially good, and just recently I noticed that they announced two new plant-based frozen ramen products: Yuzu Shio Ramen and Creamy Tonkotsu Ramen. Sadly, because they’re frozen, you’re not likely to find these for sale online without some hefty shipping charges; you’re going to have to check your local Asian markets for these if you want to try them. If I can find one or both flavors, you can bet I’ll give them a proper review.

Nongshim Quietly Adds to Its American Lineup

I have no idea when these showed up on Nongshim’s website, but I check pretty frequently and only noticed these a couple weeks ago. Without much fanfare, Nongshim has added several new products to its inventory: Budae Ramyun, a pack version of their previously-bowl-only YukGaeJang, a Shrimp & Habanero Ramyun cup, a repackaging of its Premium Udon variety, a new Premium Yaki Udon Hot & Spicy flavor, a new Premium Yaki Udon Teriyaki flavor, and most intriguing, a product simply called “Nongshim Ramyun.”

Fans of the unfortunately-discontinued K-Army Stew (of which I was one) will be happy to know that Budae Ramyun appears to be its spiritual successor, with the caveat that it appears to be missing the chili beans and red pepper rings that were in the K-Army flake packet. As for the more mysterious Nongshim Ramyun, the label says “Return to the Roots,” making me think that maybe this is an older recipe from Nongshim’s beginnings, although I can’t be certain. The ingredients indicate it to be a chili-and-seafood broth with some dried fish cake.

All of these new products sound like they could be great, so I’ll keep an eye out for them next time I go shopping!
