Noodle Journey is an episodic YouTube channel dedicated to detailed and informative reviews of the instant noodle universe. This website provides a fully searchable index of every video, allowing you to find your next favorite instant noodle product. Some reviews have additional thoughts that I have added since the video was published.
Whatever you may think of David Chang and Momofuku, this is the best sauce out of all of their products, and I will die on the opinion that is that hill.

This is the second of Momofuku’s two new flavors as of August 2023. Based on the ingredients, this seems pretty redundant with the Tingly Chili Wavy Noodles, so you might be wondering if this is different in any appreciable way. Don’t worry, Noodle Journey is here for you. Watch the review to learn all about this new flavor!
At long last, Momofuku has debuted two new flavors in their line of noodles in partnership with A-Sha! This first one appears to be a totally original sauce recipe based on sweet and spicy Korean gochujang paste. Watch this detailed review to see if this flavor is a winner or not!
Notes since filming: I had titled this “The Basic Hack” with the intention of filming a more elaborate “hack” down the road that never materialized. Maybe someday if I get struck with inspiration. The truth is I’m very much over Momofuku’s noodles as a result of David Chang’s shenanigans and so I don’t have a big desire to revisit this.
Also, I can say as a professional software developer (my day job) that it is perfectly acceptable to use the term “hack” when elevating your instant noodles. One entry in Merriam-Webster defines a computer hack as “to write computer programs for enjoyment.” Wouldn’t the equivalent action of customizing your noodles for enjoyment fall into the same category? As someone who quite literally does both things, the answer is yes.
Also worth noting, the furikake I featured in this video goes great with yakisoba and Samyang Buldak.

This is a super fast and simple hack idea for Momofuku’s noodles that gives you some protein and a blast of flavor without breaking the bank. Want some more elaborate hack videos? Original video description: Today we’re checking out the third and (currently) final variety of Momofuku noodles left to review: Soy & Scallion. Is this an awesome package of noodles on its own? We’ll see!
Notes since filming: When people complain that Momofuku sauces are boring, for me, this is the exception that proves the rule. Love it or hate it, the tingly chili sauce in this one is a more unique recipe than the others that were available at the time and it packs a lot of flavor. Some of you might not like that flavor, what with the various vegetable extracts and Sichuan peppercorn taking center stage, but this sauce is not something you could easily replicate at home like the others.

Following up on the Momofuku Spicy Soy Noodles review from episode 4, I take a look at Momofuku’s Tingly Chili Wavy Noodles.
Momofuku’s pricing and packaging options have changed since I recorded this video, so check out their website below for the latest options.
Also, as of mid-May 2022 it appears that these are now available at Whole Foods (thanks for the heads-up, Edmund Moore!), so this may be the cheapest way to get these if you have a local Whole Foods. The Amazon link below should work for that as well.
Notes since filming: And thus begins my love/hate relationship with Momofuku and David Chang. My Momofuku reviews get thousands of hits and have netted me tons of subscribers, and so I feel obligated to review them when something new comes out even though the luster has worn off since I filmed this.
I was a little starstruck when filming this video. It was so early on and I was so happy to review something that was made by a “celebrity chef.” Unfortunately, David Chang didn’t really “make” these so much as just slap his branding on it and double the price. And since we now know what a total asshole David Chang can be, I feel bad that I gushed over these as much as I did in my introduction.
Still, I have to credit Momofuku for getting me to try Taiwanese-style noodles for the very first time, because while the sauce on this one was unimpressive, I still absolutely love A-Sha’s noodles.
Full credit to A-Sha for the noodles since I didn’t say it in the video.

Time to take a look at some noodles with an impressive pedigree and an interesting story! Let’s review Momofuku’s Spicy Soy noodles today!
As mentioned in the video, at the time of recording these were sold out everywhere, but they are finally trickling back in stock online and in stores if you would like to purchase them.
