Hey everyone, it's time to get into the very first site-exclusive Noodle Journey review, with Maruchan Yakisoba Cheddar Cheese Flavor! If you're confused about why this is a bunch of text with no video, check out the recent blog post explaining my decision to split up my reviews between the channel and this site. Anyway... cheesy instant noodles. I think cheese may be the most divisive ingredient I've ever encountered in instant noodles (aside from all the stuff in the gimmick flavors out there). Here we have Maruchan combining a cheese sauce with their yakisoba noodles into what I'm imagining is going to be a glorified mac and cheese with minimal-to-no Asian flavors.

Nongshim Shin Ramyun Red & Shin Ramyun “The Red” Review | Noodle Journey Episode 197
We're counting down to episode 200 with more Nongshim Shin reviews! Today is a double-review of some of the hottest entries in the Shin product line. We've got the version sold in America, Nongshim Shin Ramyun Red Fiery Spicy Beef flavor, and we've got the version sold overseas, Nongshim Shin Ramyun "The Red." Now, I personally, along with many others on the internet, have been calling the original Shin Ramyun "Shin Red" for years now, but that was never its official name. It was something we referred to it as colloquially. So now that these products exist, I guess we all have to stop doing that! There are officially two Shin Reds now, and these are both super spicy versions of the original Shin Ramyun recipe.
Nongshim Shin Ramyun Vegan Review | Noodle Journey Episode 196
Today's review starts a countdown to episode 200 with five Nongshim reviews in a row, and this Nongshim Shin Ramyun Vegan variety is the first one on the list. Aaaall the way back in episodes 1 and 2, I reviewed Shin Ramyun and Shin Ramyun Black. Episodes 100 and 101 were Shin Ramyun Gold and Shin Ramyun Green. I like to give Nongshim a little spotlight on my milestone episodes because they really were the brand that got me hooked on instant noodles a few years back. For the countdown to 200, I’m going through the Shin products I haven't reviewed yet.
Noodle Journey Site-Exclusive Reviews Are Coming!
If you made your way here from my YouTube channel, chances are you've wondered what else this site can do besides just providing a searchable index of all of my reviews. To that end, I've decided to take advantage of the medium that is WordPress and publish some reviews on here that won't be featured
Ramen Bae Ramen Hot Sauce Review | Noodle Journey Supplemental Episode
Today I've got something new and seemingly pretty unique from Ramen Bae: Ramen Hot Sauce. This is a very specifically marketed product and I've just never quite seen anything like it before. Ramen Bae is normally known for their dried toppings that you cook with your noodles, but this is something completely different. It's a jarred hot sauce whose flavor profiles are supposed to be complimentary to instant ramen. And yeah, we've already got things like chili crisp that can handle that, but Ramen Bae is calling this a hot sauce, not a chili crisp or chili oil, even though the description lists chili, garlic, and oil. From what I can see of the consistency in this jar, it makes me think that calling this a "hot sauce" is a marketing tactic. This does kind of look like chili crisp, so once I open this up we're going to find out if that's really the case together.
Myojo Ippei-Chan Yakisoba Strawberry Shortcake Flavor Review | Noodle Journey Episode 195
Today's review is of a product that probably shouldn't exist, but here we are anyway. This is Myojo Ippei-Chan Yakisoba Strawberry Shortcake Flavor, and no, I'm not kidding and this isn't a joke. You could say this is clickbait or even rage bait, but even if I wasn't doing my channel or this website, I would still really, really want to know what this tastes like.
Ramen Toppers Black Garlic Chicken for Noodles Review | Noodle Journey Supplemental Episode
I don't use the term "game changer" lightly, but what I have here for review today might just be that: Ramen Toppers Black Garlic Chicken for Noodles. If you haven't seen Ramen Toppers before, this is an American-made dried Ramen topping brand, and their revamped Pork and Fish Cake mix is legitimately one of my favorite products. It's something I use frequently when I make Japanese instant ramen. When I saw that this new Black Garlic Chicken mix had started to pop up on Amazon recently, I got in touch with my contact over there and asked if I could have a canister to review, and so they obliged, and I am beyond excited to try this.
