Noodle Journey Episode 100: Nongshim Shin Gold

Notes since filming:

I find myself defending Shin Gold frequently on Reddit from people who find it underwhelming. “It doesn’t taste like Shin Black!” “It’s just a spicy chicken broth!” etc. Both of those things are true, but neither fact makes Shin Gold a bad product. It’s a spicy, salty, thick chicken broth, and that is exactly what it is supposed to be and nothing more. It is, in my opinion, executed damned well. If you buy this expecting it to taste like something other than spicy chicken broth, that’s on you, not on the product. Personally, I’ve found that the only spicy chicken product that rivals this is Paldo Kokomen. I stand by this review and I still buy Shin Gold when I want chicken flavor.

Here we are at episode 100! Since this channel began at episode 1 with me extolling the virtues of Nongshim Shin and Shin Black, I felt like episode 100 should be a review of a new variety in the Shin line. This Shin Gold is a spicy chicken ramyun that’s sure to pique your curiosity if you haven’t tried it yet!
